La transposition d'œuvres picturales sur des supports textiles n'est pas rare, cf. catalogue Alfons Mucha, exposition Mathildenhöhe, Darmstadt 1980, p. 152, où seules des impressions sont toutefois mentionnées. Plus complexes que les images imprimées sur tissu, les tissages en soie présentés ici exigent un haut niveau de savoir-faire pour être transposés sur un support textile.
