Tirage limité à 321 exemplaires : un des 300 sur grand vélin d’Arches (nº 202). Œuvre phare du surréalisme : elle est illustrée par Max Ernst de trois eaux-fortes originales, dont le titre, et 21 planches hors texte coloriées au pochoir. On joint également une suite à part des 21 planches sous couverture ornée de l’eau-forte de titre.
