Germany - Third Reich Christmas Dagger of the Stormtroopers - Weihnachtdolch 1933 This lot is sent from our warehouse in Berlin; This dirk was approved on December 15, 1933 at the headquarters of the SA along with the uniform assault squads. At Christmas 1933 it was sent out to the highest SA officers. A distinctive feature of this dagger is the imperial eagle in the handle. Which was the emblem of the assault troops. On all other statutory daggers were later fitted with a standard eagle. The motto is written on the blade in a special font that was never repeated. The main feature is the shape of the letter A, which in Gothic the inscriptions were no longer repeated. Thus, this dagger became the prototype of the SA uniform daggers and SS model 1933. January 16, 1934 by letter through the office of the SA chief a sample of the SA and SS dirks were sent to the state patent office bureau and where on February 6 daggers were patented and from March 29 were adopted for service in the form that was issued to the SA and SS troops. Dirk with a brown wooden handle and nickel silver guards. In the handle is inserted with an emblem in the form of an eagle of assault troops. Double-edged straight blade. On one side there is the inscription ALL FOR GERMANY-ALLES FUR DEUTSCHLAND in a font that is no longer repeated. On the other side is the maker's mark Carl ichhorn-CARL EICKHORN. ; Condition-I
