It is a sober and functional design, with a mid-century industrial aesthetic.

Accord entre Henry Fonda et la Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation employant l'acteur pour fournir des services "dans un (1) film, à partir du 27 février 1939, ou le jour suivant l'achèvement de tous les services que le producteur peut demander à l'artiste de fournir en relation avec le film du producteur provisoirement intitulé 'Alexander Graham Bell'", pour une rémunération de 25 000 dollars. Signé à la fin au stylo plume par Henry Fonda, et contresigné par un cadre du studio et un notaire. Placé dans sa chemise d'origine en papier brun. En très bon état. Dans le film The Story of Alexander Graham Bell (1939) de la Twentieth Century-Fox, Fonda joue le rôle de son assistant, Thomas A. Watson, qui entend de façon spectaculaire les premiers mots prononcés au téléphone : "M. Watson, venez ici ! J'ai besoin de vous ! L'année suivante est très chargée pour Fonda, qui joue dans Young Mr. Lincoln, Drums Along the Mohawk et The Grapes of Wrath, tous réalisés par le légendaire John Ford.
