1952 AJS Type : 16M Trial N° série : 74499 Carte grise française 2 000 / 3 000 € L'AJS Model 16 est une moto anglaise fabriquée par Associated Motorcycles dans l'ancienne usine Matchless de Plumstead, à Londres. Elle possède un cadre rigide et un moteur de 350 cc. Elle est développée en 1945 à partir de la moto militaire Matchless G3/L de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale. Ayant fait ses preuves en service de guerre, le monocylindre de 350 cm3 est resté en production et a été vendu en grand nombre sur le marché civil jusque dans les années 1960. Simple et pratique, le modèle 16 ne nécessitait qu'un entretien minimal et était très économique, ce qui était idéal en période de rationnement de l'essence. La société a également produit une moto presque identique sous le nom de Matchless, la Matchless G3L. La seule différence entre les deux était que la Matchless avait une magnéto à l'arrière du cylindre, alors que la magnéto AJS était à l'avant. It has a rigid frame and a 350cc engine. It was developed in 1945 from the World War II Matchless G3/L military motorbike. Having proved its worth in war service, the 350cc single cylinder remained in production and was sold in large numbers on the civilian market until the 1960s. Simple and practical, the Model 16 required minimal maintenance and was very economical, which was ideal in times of petrol rationing. The company also produced an almost identical motorbike under the Matchless name, the Matchless G3L. The only difference between the two was that the Matchless had a magneto at the rear of the cylinder, whereas the AJS magneto was at the front.
