Forte lame nickelée à section biconvexe (usée, traces de rouille), signée en haut par le fabricant "Manufacture nationale d'armes de Chatellerault Avril 1909 Offer. d'Infrie Mle 1882". Poignée en maillechort (un peu desserrée) avec poignée en corne et enroulement de fil complété. Fourreau en acier repeint en noir (en partie cicatrisé) avec anneau de transport mobile. Sur la poignée le monogramme "CH". Légèrement endommagé, traces d'âge. Longueur 102 cm. Condition : II

Der Zinkguss eingeschlagen in nummerierter Textildecke. - Rachel Whiteread wurde für diese Ausgabe eingeladen, ein für sie besonders wichtiges Buch auszuwählen, für das sie dann eine neue Schutzumschlag entwirft und unter ihrem eigenen Namen als "Reprint" präsentiert. In diesem Fall hat der Künstler Mike and the Modelmakers' von M. Sasek gewählt, das 1970 veröffentlicht wurde. Das Londoner Studio von Whiteread lag gegenüber der Firma Lesney, die in den 1970er Jahren der Spielzeughersteller des Matchbox-Autos war. "I chose this book because it is related to where I live and how I work. My old studio was next to the site of the original matchbox factory. As a child I played with matchbox cars, now my children play with them. A lot of those industrial buildings have been demolished in readiness for the 2012 Olympics. I found an original copy of this book in a junk shop in the late 1980's, it seemed like a fitting tribute to those old buildings and the author / illustrator M.Sasek and to those great matchbox cars. One of 40 copies of the special edition, signed and numbered by Whiteread herself. Works by Torrescassana are preserved, among others, in the National Museum of Art of Catalonia, the Víctor Balaguer Library Museum, or the Museum of Art of Gerona, and the collection of Banco Sabadell, with a painting dedicated to the vintage in which the traditional realism that characterized much of his painting, closely linked to the teachings received from Martí Alsina, opens up to new studies of light. As for portraits, also abundant in his artistic production, the University of Barcelona keeps the portrait of Pablo González Huebra in the rectoral gallery, as well as in the dining room of Antoni Gaudí's Casa Vicens.
