Der Gordon-Bennett-Cup (Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett) ist das älteste Gasballonrennen, das von James Gordon Bennett Jr. ins Leben gerufen wurde, einem amerikanischen Pressebaron und Mäzen von Autorennen und Sport. Mit mehreren Unterbrechungen wird es seit 1906 jährlich ausgetragen. Der Startpunkt des Rennens 1935 war Warschau (Polen), Gewinner war die polnische Besatzung, Zbigniew Burzynski (Zbigniew Burzynski) und Wladyslaw Wysocki (Wladyslaw Wysocki), mit dem Ballon SP-AMY Polonia II. Sie blieben fast 58 Stunden in der Luft und steuerten ihren Ballon 1.650 Kilometer von Warschau nach Tishkino bei Stalingrad (heutiges Wolgograd). Sie brachen dabei die Weltrekorde in Bezug auf Länge und Zeit. Die Bilder zeigen den Start des Siegers, SP-AMY Polonia II, und der US Navy, dem Gewinner des Pokals von 1932. Drei Bilder sind auf polnisch beschriftet: "Gesamtansicht des Aufblasens der Ballons", mit SP-ADS Kosciuszko, dem Siegerballon des vorangegangenen Cups, der bei diesem Rennen den fünften Platz belegte - "Start des Ballons Warszawa. Er flog 1.280 Kilometer in 36 Stunden und belegte den zweiten Platz" - "Lift off balloon Belgica, that finished in third place" flog 1.455 Kilometer in etwa 48 Stunden. Die Bilder dokumentieren ferner das Aufblasen und den Start der anderen Ballone. Zürich III, Torun und einer der deutschen Ballone sind an dem Hakenkreuz an der Seite zu erkennen. Five prints with copyright stamp of Wladyslaw Toczylowski on verso. - The Gordon Bennett Cup (Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett) is the oldest gas balloon race, created by James Gordon Bennett Jr, an American press baron and patron of motor racing and sport. With several interruptions, it has been held annually since 1906. The starting point of the 1935 race was Warsaw, Poland, and the winner was the Polish crew, Zbigniew Burzynski (Zbigniew Burzynski) and Wladyslaw Wysocki (Wladyslaw Wysocki), with the balloon SP-AMY Polonia II. Jh. in Paris bei Mariette und 1751 bei Jombert verlegt wurde, allerdings nur sechs Kupferstiche umfasst. Der Titel dieser anderen Serie lässt darauf hindeuten, dass die vorliegende Folge früher erschienen ist. Die Württembergische Landesbibliothek verwahrt ein Exemplar mit identischem Titel zur vorliegenden Serie, welches ebenfalls 12 Stiche umfasst. - In den Rändern teils mit unscheinbaren Anschmutzungen. Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten mit kräftigen Abzügen. - Dabei: 5 weitere Blätter. Darunter 2 aus der Serie "Panneaux d'ornement".
