Er war eine der bedeutendsten kulturellen und intellektuellen Persönlichkeiten Mitteleuropas im frühen 18. Jahrhundert. Yves de Paris (1588-1687) war ein Kapuzinertheologe, Humanist und geistlicher Schriftsteller. In seinen moralischen Schriften erweist sich Yves als Molinist, indem er die Zusammenarbeit der menschlichen Freiheit mit der göttlichen Gnade betont. - Papierbedingt gebräunt und teils etwas fleckig. Gutes Exemplar in dekorativem Einband. 4 parts in 1 vol. With an engraved frontispiece portrait of Count Sporck. Contemporary pigskin with rich figural and ornamental blindstamping and heraldic centrepieces, red edges (somewhat rubbed, stained and bumped, front cover somewhat bent, spine with label residues). - With engraved armorial bookplate of the Bibliotheca Seckendorfiana. - First German edition. - The portrait engraved by Anton Birckhart after Johann Hiebel. - Franz Anton Reichsgraf von Sporck (1662-1738) was a German-speaking man of letters and patron of the arts who lived in Bohemia. He was one of the most important cultural and intellectual figures in Central Europe in the early 18th century. Yves de Paris (1588-1687) was a Capuchin theologian, humanist and spiritual writer. In his moral writings Yves proves to be a Molinist, emphasising the cooperation of human freedom with divine grace. - Paper browned and partly somewhat stained. Good copy in decorative binding.
