Payments
Forms of payment accepted are: cheque, bank transfer, credit card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express) and cash up to €1,000.00. In the case of cheque or bank transfer, payment will be considered cleared only upon confirmation by our bank of transfer of the amount due. No item will be delivered prior to this. Payments for items purchased must be made no later than 5 working days from the date of the auction. In case of default by the buyer, the auction house will assume that the sale is closed and make the item available again to the seller. .Capitoliumart offers also an online bidding service via the-saleroom.com for bidders who cannot attend the sale. In completing the bidder registration on www.the-saleroom.com and providing your credit card details and unless alternative arrangements are agreed with Capitoliumart: 1. authorise Capitoliumart, if they so wish, to charge the credit card given in part or full payment, including all fees, for items successfully purchased in the auction via the-saleroom.com, and 2. confirm that you are authorised to provide these credit card details to Capitoliumart through www.the-saleroom.com and agree that Capitoliumart is entitled to ship the goods to the card holder name and card holder address provided in fulfilment of the sale.
Deferred payments
For purchases with a minimum €5,000.00 hammer price, auction fees excluded (for each individual auction, where more than one item is purchased), a deferred payment service is provided interest-free, with 5 monthly installments and immediate payment of the auction fees and first installment of the hammer price. CapitoliumArt provides an all-inclusive service for packaging and shipping of lots for auction buyers.
- The service can be paid for in one transaction together with the purchased lots.
- For several lots, up to a maximum of four, with the exception of large sculptures and furniture items, these can be combined in a single package; in this case the shipping cost will be the lot with the highest shipping cost plus 5 euros for each additional lot.
- Insured shipping can also be provided on request.
- In the case of framed lots, the glass is always removed before shipment.

Export of lots outside the territory of the Republic of Italy, especially items more than fifty years old, is subject to regulations under Legislative Decree 29/10/99 no. 490 (art. 65-72).
Issue of the relevant certificates for free circulation is the responsibility of the buyer.
Failure to provide or delay in the issuing of any licence does not constitute cause for termination or cancellation of the sale, or justify any delay in payment by the purchaser of the total amount due.
