Jugendstil Sammlung von 12 Original-Illustrationsentwürfen verschiedener Künstler für die Zeitschrift "Jugend". Frühes 20. Jh. Verschiedene Techniken: überwiegend Federzeichnungen, teils koloriert. Enthält Arbeiten von Alexander Sandor von Kubinyi (2), Julius von Szeremley, Josef Nikolaus Geis (4), Arpad Schmidhammer (?, monogrammiert "AP"), Paula Cäcilie Schmidt-Goy, Friedrich Heubner (2) und Franz Lauterer. - Die von 1896 bis 1940 erschienene "Jugend - Münchner illustrierte Wochenschrift für Kunst und Leben" war namensgebend für die Kunstrichtung des Jugendstils. Doch auch andere Stilrichtungen wie beispielsweise der Impressionismus oder das Art Déco hatten einen Einfluss auf das Erscheinungsbild des Blattes. Geprägt waren die Illustrationen, wie es die vorliegende Sammlung zeigt, von einem satirischen und kulturkritischen Ton. - Teils atelierspurig sowie mit Gebrauchsspuren und Anschmutzungen. Einige Bll. mit hs. Annotationen. Passepartouts angeschmutzt und teils mit Defekten. Interessante Sammlung in künstlerischer wie historischer Hinsicht. Collection of 12 original illustration designs by various artists for the magazine "Jugend". Early 20th century. Various techniques: mainly pen and ink drawings, partly coloured. Each signed or monogrammed. Mostly mounted on backing and under passepartout. - Includes works by the above mentioned. The magazine "Jugend" (Munich Illustrated Weekly for Art and Life) appeared from 1896 to 1940. As the present collection shows, the illustrations were characterised by a satirical and culturally critical tone. - Partly atelier-marked as well as with traces of use and soiling. Some with annotations in manuscript. Passepartouts soiled and partly with defects. Interesting collection from an artistic as well as historical point of view.

Enthält: 1946, Nr. 6-25. 1947, Nr. 27-50. 1948, Nr. 51-54 u. 56-74. 1949, Nr. 75-100. 1950, Nr.101-126. 1951, Nr. 127-152. - Die Zeitschrift "Heute" wurde zwischen 1945 bis 1951 in München vom American Military Government herausgegeben, ihre amerikanische Abkürzung war daher AMG Magazine. Sie war die erste deutschsprachige Illustrierte nach Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Das erste Heft erschien im Juli 1945, anschließend erschien die Illustrierte zweiwöchentlich. Insbesondere in den ersten Jahren war vor allem die Nachkriegszeit im Mittelpunkt: die Nürnberger Prozesse, das Flüchtlingselend, Armut, der Marshallplan, die Entnazifizierung. Als Bildredakteur fungierte u.a. der Magnum-Photograph Ernst Haas. Insgesamt erschienen 152 Ausgaben, die letzte im Dezember 1951. - Teils mit kleinen Randläsuren. Einige wenige etwas knapp beschnitten. Insgesamt sehr gut. Collection of 144 issues of the magazine "Heute". Original wrappers bound in six cont. half cloth vols. (with defects). - Almost complete collection of the magazine. Contains: see above. - The magazine "Heute" was published between 1945 and 1951 in Munich by the American Military Government, its American abbreviation was therefore AMG Magazine. It was the first German-language magazine after WWII. The first issue appeared in July 1945, after which the magazine was published biweekly. In the early years in particular, the focus was on the post-war period: the Nuremberg trials, the plight of refugees, poverty, the Marshall Plan and denazification. The Magnum photographer Ernst Haas was one of the picture editors. A total of 152 issues were published, the last in December 1951. - Some with small marginal wear. A few slightly trimmed. Overall well preserved.
