Very rare first edition of this relation of a travel from Marseille to Manila, 1870-1871, going through Aden, Ceylon, Singapore and Hong-Kong, apparently by a Antwerp botanist (cf. p. 217). Illustrated with 8 original albumen photographsincl. 3 reproductions of drawings, representing local population. Written for his friends and probably a limited edition, the book contains many picturesque anecdotes and ends with a presentation of the commercial and agricultural resources of the country, then ruled by Spain.
