Paris Delange an XXX-1805 2 vol., 12mo: [2]-xvii-186, [2]-252 pp.; 14 pl. (sl. foxing). Contemp. Bradel green marbled paper cardboard, yellow edges (some sl. stains, front flylvs missing). First French translation by the orientalist Louis Langlès (1763-1824), conservator of the oriental manuscripts at the Bibliothèque Nationale. Illustrated with 14 hand-coloured plates on double-pages (except one fold.). The English painter Hodges (1744-1797) was part of Cook's second voyage to the Pacific Ocean, and was one of the first British landscape painter to visit India, where he remained 6 years. Ref. Cp.
