Remarkable work nicely illustrated (complete) with 87 pl. showing English, Dutch & Danish, Swiss and German, Austrian and French cattle. The plates are based on photographs by Nadar jeune (alias Adrien Tournachon, half brother of Félix Nadar), interpreted in pencil by animal artists or sculptors such as Rosa or Isidore Bonheur, Émile Van Marcke, Barye, Troyon, etc. and then reproduced with several engraving techniques such as photo engraving by A.
