With a description of the function of the eye as a telescopic- or microscopical-functioning organ (referring to Galileo's invention) and explaining the various conditions of the eye such as amaurosis, cataracts, conjunctivitis, hallucinations, lachrymal ducts and glands, misalignment of the eyes, myopia, nyctalopia (night blindness), ocular tumors (elephantiasis), ophthalmia, presbyopia, squinting, symptomatic congenital lacrimal fistulas, as well as the cornea, sclera and retina.
