FIBULE Art romain, IVe-Ve siècle. En or, de type cruciforme. L’arc très bombé, les boutons en pointe. La fibule cruciforme, caractéristique de l’Antiquité tardive, était portée par des dignitaires de haut rang, membres de la cour impériale, hauts fonctionnaires de l’administration, militaires, officiers et vétérans de l’armée. Elle devient même une distinction officielle dans la seconde moitié du IVe siècle. L. 73 mm ; 25 g A roman gold crossbow (type 6) brooch, each of the two lateral knobs trimmed with beading, one at the head likewise. The crossbow fibula, typical of late Antiquity, was worn by high-ranking dignitaries, members of the imperial court, high administration officials, servicemen, military officers and veterans of the army. It even became an official distinction in the second half of the 4th century. Ca. 4th - 5th century A.D.
