Ejemplar en muy buen estado, impreso en papel vitela, que incluye una prueba de artista firmada. París, Éditions du Val-de-Loire, 1949. Gran in-4, en hojas, cubierta rellena impresa en negro, con sobre y estuche del editor en cartón que imita la piel de reptil. 245 páginas, 20 grabados originales de Brechenmacher en negro, 10 de ellos con serpientes fuera de texto. Desgaste mínimo en la funda y en el estuche. Edición ilustrada con 20 potentes composiciones grabadas al buril por René Brechenmacher, cuyo trazo incisivo recrea a la perfección la dimensión fantástica y alucinatoria de la obra maestra de Flaubert. Tirada de 290 ejemplares numerados; este es uno de los 200 ejemplares en papel Vélin de Rives (n.º 196), enriquecido con una hermosa prueba de artista firmada en la parte inferior izquierda. En excelente estado.
