BENJAMÍN ARMAS (Caracas, Venezuela, 1985). Sin título, 2018. Técnica mixta sobre lienzo. Sin bastidor. Firmado y fechado en el reverso. Dimensiones: 107 x 137 cm. Benjamín Armas nació en Caracas, Venezuela, en 1985 y emigró a Nueva York en 1996. Procedente de una familia vinculada al mundo de la cultura y las artes, es nieto del escritor y crítico literario venezolano Alfredo Armas Alfonzo, reconocido por su contribución a la literatura venezolana y considerado una figura clave en el relato corto y la fábula moderna. Armas estudió arquitectura en el Pratt Institute de Brooklyn, una formación que ha influido en su enfoque espacial y constructivo de la creación artística. Su práctica abarca la escultura, la fotografía, la instalación y los proyectos arquitectónicos. En 2007 inició una colaboración artística con Ori Carino, con quien ha desarrollado proyectos conjuntos de escultura, pintura e instalación, presentados bajo el nombre de Armas Carino. Su obra se ha expuesto en la LatchKey Gallery de Nueva York. Ya no tiene bastidor.
