Edición original de esta recopilación de cartas «más o menos imaginarias» seguidas de comentarios, en la que Jacob traza «un retrato satírico de la sociedad en general, de la vida en provincia y de su burguesía, a veces sórdida» (Gallimard). Ejemplar de la tirada corriente, regalado por el autor a André Gide, adornado con esta bonita dedicatoria autógrafa firmada en la primera hoja en blanco: A André Gide // cuyo voto basta para // mi honor. // Max Jacob. Ejemplar muy bien conservado, a pesar de que el lomo está ligeramente desgastado.
