Java y Singapur Fotógrafo: Fedor Schulze (1836-1908) y autor desconocido. Gente de Java y Singapur. Décadas de 1880 y 1890. 18 copias en albúmina, montadas sobre cartón. Cada una mide aprox. 26 x 19,5 cm (montajes de 40,5 x 31,5 cm) y reverso. Un fascinante conjunto de retratos de estudio de Java y Singapur, que combina una fuerte presencia individual con el rico lenguaje decorativo de la fotografía comercial de finales del siglo XIX. Fedor Schulze, antiguo oficial del KNIL nacido en Alemania, fundó su estudio en Batavia en la década de 1890, donde comercializaba «tipos y vistas» junto con sus publicaciones de viajes; la presente selección es característica de esta floreciente cultura visual. – Los soportes presentan suciedad y manchas debidas al paso del tiempo en los bordes; las copias presentan algunas marcas superficiales y decoloración, especialmente en los bordes; por lo demás, se encuentran en buen estado general.
