Clarke Hutton, británico, 1898-1985 - Sin título, 1963; acuarela, tinta y pastel sobre papel, firmada y fechada en la parte inferior derecha «C. H. 63», 35,8 x 50,5 cm (ARR) Nota: Clarke Hutton comenzó su carrera en el mundo del arte trabajando como escenógrafo y asistente de Carl Wilhelm en el Empire Leicester Square. Tras un largo viaje por Europa a finales de la década de 1920, se matriculó como estudiante adulto en la Central School of Arts and Crafts bajo la tutela de A. S. Hartrick. Cuando Hartrick se jubiló tres años más tarde, Hutton se hizo cargo de sus clases de litografía y fue nombrado jefe del departamento. Fue un prolífico ilustrador de unos setenta libros, además de un pintor apasionado y consumado. Aunque se mostraba reacio a exponer, sí que realizó algunas exposiciones individuales y expuso su obra en la Royal Academy, la Redfern Gallery, la Zwemmers Gallery y la Michael Parkin Gallery.
