FRAGMENTO DE TELA KISWA NEGRA CON CALIGRAFÍA, ARABIA SAUDÍ, SIGLO XX Fragmento de la cortina interior (Kiswa) de la Kaaba, tejido en seda de luminosos tonos negros sobre un fondo negro intenso. El tejido está articulado por elegantes bandas onduladas que recorren toda su longitud, enmarcando inscripciones devocionales en una caligrafía finamente tejida. Las inscripciones —Kalimat al-Tawhid— dicen: «No hay más dios que Alá, y Mahoma es el Mensajero de Alá». Además, lleva las alabanzas: «Gloria a Alá y alabanza a Él; gloria a Alá, el Más Grande», junto con la súplica «Ya Hannan, Ya Mannan» («Oh, el Más Compasivo, oh, el Más Generoso»). 143 por 188 cm
