Pequeño in-4°, papel vitela color marfil, etiqueta con el título en marroquín rojo en el lomo (encuadernación de finales del siglo XVII). 24 (de 28) + 399 + 55 + [XIV (de XVI)] pp., firmadas (si está completo): á4, é4, í4, A-Z4, Aa-Zz4, AAa-DDd4, a-i4. EDICIÓN ORIGINAL de la «obra que contribuyó a fijar la lengua y constituye uno de los monumentos más bellos de la prosa francesa». Procedente de la biblioteca del librero de libros antiguos y editor Leo Samuele OLSCHKI de Florencia, con exlibris. Volumen reencuadernado en una encuadernación antigua de vitela. Faltan las pp. 25 a 28 (poema de dedicatoria y privilegio) y la última hoja en blanco (I4) [pp. XV y XVI]; el título está recortado en la parte superior y en el margen, al igual que la hoja I1 (Índice), con pérdida de texto debido a una encuadernación defectuosa; manchas de humedad en las últimas quince hojas.
