Louis BOUTAN (1859-1934) «Fotografía submarina de L. Boutan, profesor titular de la Sorbona», 1898 Portafolio (ejemplar del autor) con 5 copias al citrato, indicaciones manuscritas en los montajes, con la inscripción «fotografía submarina de 1898 por Louis Boutan» y «impresa por Pierre Petit fot.», autógrafo y dedicatoria en la segunda cubierta del portafolio 12,2 x 17 cm (4) - 22 x 17 cm (1) Louis Boutan fue el primero en realizar fotografías submarinas en 1893. Estos experimentos se llevaron a cabo en el laboratorio Arago de Banyuls-sur-mer. Junto con su hermano Auguste, ingeniero, experimentó con cámaras estancas, dispositivos de iluminación y tomas submarinas. Sus investigaciones dieron como resultado fotografías instantáneas y retratos realizados bajo el agua.
