Arnoldi Nag 1928 Locarno - 2017 Lugano Sin título. 1967 Técnica mixta sobre contrachapado Firmado y fechado en la parte inferior derecha: NAG 67 Sin enmarcar 150 × 97,5 cm Antes de que Nag Arnoldi se dedicara principalmente a la escultura a partir de la década de 1970, se dedicó intensamente a la pintura, el dibujo y la cerámica. Este artista del Tesino recibió su formación artística en los talleres de Giuseppe Foglia, Antonio Chiattone, Filippo Boldini y Carlo Cotti en Lugano. Las obras de Pablo Picasso y de los expresionistas europeos influyeron de manera decisiva en su desarrollo inicial. Además, durante sus viajes a México, se interesó por el arte de las culturas precolombinas. La obra de 1967, realizada en técnica mixta sobre madera contrachapada, pertenece a esta fase creativa de carácter experimental, en la que Arnoldi probó diferentes materiales y formas de expresión. Desde 1962 impartió clases en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Lugano, donde permaneció hasta 1993.
