Carta autógrafa firmada dirigida a la señorita de Scudéry. Versalles; 19 de agosto de 1684, 1 página in-4°. Hermosa y valiosa carta en la que Madame de Maintenon agradece a la señorita Scudéry sus envíos. «Créame, señorita, que es usted muy apreciada por aquel (Luis XIV) a quien alaba sin cesar. Ha escuchado la lectura, en todos los aspectos, de sus últimas conversaciones, que le parecen tan útiles como agradables». Las conversaciones de la señorita de Scudéry sugirieron a la señora de Maintenon, que había sido su amiga antes de convertirse en su protectora, la idea de componer otras más sencillas, destinadas a ser recitadas por las señoritas de Saint-Cyr.
