Bustos yuxtapuestos a la derecha de Nicolás II, con uniforme militar con charreteras y condecoraciones, y de la emperatriz Alexandra, con una diadema y un collar. Firmado: J. C. / CHAPLAIN. Reverso: «VISITA · EN · FRANCIA / DE · SUS · MAJESTADES / EL EMPERADOR · Y · LA IMPERATRIZ / DE RUSIA / CHERBOURG PARÍS CHALONS / 5-9 DE OCTUBRE / 1896». En la parte superior, el escudo del Imperio ruso (águila bicéfala) a la izquierda y el emblema de la República Francesa (haz de lictores y escudo con las iniciales RF) a la derecha, coronando una inscripción de siete líneas, con la parte inferior y la izquierda adornadas con una rica guirnalda de flores.
