Julius Wentscher, Paisaje lacustre Campo situado entre dos lagos con campesinos trabajando en el campo; al fondo, una colina boscosa; acuarela sobre cartón ligero, hacia 1900, firmada en la esquina inferior derecha «J. Wentscher», presenta defectos de conservación; dimensiones de la hoja: aprox. 27,5 x 37,5 cm. Información sobre el artista: cuyo nombre completo era Julius Theophil Wentscher, también conocido como Julius Wentscher sénior, pintor alemán de paisajes y marinas (1842, Graudenz/provincia de Prusia – 1918, Berlín-Wilmersdorf), estudió en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Königsberg y, posteriormente, en la Academia de Berlín con Hans Frederik Gude; en 1881 presentó por primera vez sus obras en la exposición de la Academia de Berlín; en 1899 se le concedió la Pequeña Medalla de Oro de las Artes; fue miembro de la Cooperativa General Alemana de Arte y de la Asociación de Artistas de Berlín; padre de Julius Wentscher júnior; fuente: Thieme-Becker, Saur «Diccionario biobibliográfico de artistas» y Wikipedia.
