Karl Kemedinger, «León en marcha» hacia 1925, firmado en el zócalo, marca del fabricante «EIM» dentro de un círculo (por Edgar Mertens Ilmenau), terracota, pintado en marrón oscuro y negro, imponente leóncito paseando sobre un zócalo rectangular alargado con una superficie de textura dinámica, ligeras pérdidas de color, L 55 cm. Información sobre el artista: diseñador alemán de porcelana, escultor y pintor (1897, Erdberg/Moravia del Sur – 1964, Ilmenau), tras cursar la escuela primaria, asistió a la Escuela Técnica Estatal de Industria de la Arcilla en Znaim; tras la Primera Guerra Mundial y tras pasar por Dresde y Magdeburgo, se estableció finalmente en Turingia, donde trabajó durante muchos años como modelista y diseñador para la fábrica de porcelana Graf von Henneberg en Ilmenau, además, creó diseños para otros fabricantes de renombre, como Metzler & Ortloff, y se especializó en esculturas de animales de gran expresividad (entre otros, felinos), figuras deportivas en terracota, así como relieves y pinturas.
