«Lion», György (Georg) Vastagh el Joven (Budapest, 1868-1946), probablemente entre 1890 y 1910 Galvanoplastia (fundición hueca), con pátina de color marrón cálido y gris azulado. Firmado «g. Vastagh [ifj.]» en la parte posterior del zócalo. León macho en marcha, con la cabeza erguida y las fauces abiertas, sobre un zócalo rocoso de diseño naturalista; la melena y la musculatura del cuerpo están finamente modeladas. Superficie con desgaste propio de la antigüedad en las partes salientes; en la pata trasera izquierda, una pequeña imperfección en la pátina; zócalo con pátina azul grisácea mate y algunos arañazos aislados. Dimensiones del león: aprox. 26 × 48 × 8,5 cm; con zócalo: aprox. 33 × 48 × 16 cm. Vastagh estudió en Múnich con Gabriel von Hackl y Syrius Eberle, se especializó en escultura animalista realista y realizó encargos para los Estados húngaro y egipcio; monumentos ecuestres, entre otros, en Szeged y Budapest.
