(Restauración de la esquina superior izquierda, retocada con estilete). 27 x 21,1 cm Procedencia: - Sir John Pope-Hennessy (1913-1994). - Colección particular, Europa. - Subasta de Christie’s, Londres, 3 de julio de 2018, n.º 2. Este bello estudio recuerda la técnica de Giovanni Antonio Bazzi y, por su temática, puede relacionarse con las cabezas de las monjas dominicas de *El éxtasis de Santa Catalina de Siena*, un fresco realizado hacia 1525-1526 en la capilla de Santa Catalina de Siena, en la basílica de San Domenico. Esta cabeza invertida también aparece en el retablo de Fungai, pintado en 1496 para el Santuario de Santa Catalina de Siena, en el que Sodoma pudo haberse inspirado.
