Procedencia: propiedad de Martyn Gregory, Londres [VB 347]. Nota: Davison se especializó en pintar escenas marinas antes de instalarse en el piso situado encima de la antigua oficina de correos de High Street, en Eton, en 1913. Por entonces, ya cerca de los 60 años, inició una nueva etapa en su carrera, aprovechando la demanda local de vistas de las calles y los edificios del Eton College. Sus obras se vendían principalmente a los profesores de Eton, a los alumnos y a sus familias. La presente obra es representativa de sus primeras pinturas marinas.
