Joshua Cristall, británico, 1767/68-1847- Estudio de una joven campesina, sentada de cuerpo entero; lápiz sobre papel, firmado con iniciales, con la inscripción y la fecha «J.C. Goodrich 1826» (abajo a la izquierda), 17,9 x 16,5 cm. Procedencia: de la colección de Martyn Gregory, Londres [VG 744g]. Nota: Las primeras obras de Cristall se centraron en gran medida en temas clásicos. A partir de 1813 aproximadamente, también realizó retratos de pequeño formato, para pasar posteriormente a las escenas costumbristas. Además, ocupó durante un tiempo el cargo de presidente de la Sociedad de Pintores en Acuarela. Un estudio a lápiz similar del artista se subastó en Roseberys, Londres, el 23 de septiembre de 2020, lote 22 (910 £).
