Escuela española del siglo XX. "Flagelación de Cristo". Óleo sobre tabla. Con firma parcialmente ilegible en el ángulo inferior derecho. Medidas: 61 x 46 cm; 72 x 62 cm (marco). Óleo sobre tabla, originalmente parte de un pasaje de Semana Santa, representando la flagelación de Cristo según modelos barrocos, aunque con un lenguaje más cercano al expresionismo por su pincelada agitada, dramática, y su frío cromatismo. Destaca especialmente la posición del cuerpo de Cristo, casi deformado en su patetismo, de herencia italiana, que contrasta con las figuras más estáticas de los personajes del fondo, claramente separados del primer plano no sólo por su ubicación, sino también por estar envueltos en la penumbra. El autor acentúa el dramatismo de la imagen situando al espectador en el suelo, junto a Cristo, compartiendo su punto de vista, mediante el uso de un punto de vista muy bajo.
