Alto: 55,5 x Ancho: 41 cm (Grieta en la tabla, restauraciones) Lleva la marca del fabricante de tablas Peter de Noble en el reverso de la tabla. En el siglo XVII, el retrato flamenco experimentó un auge notable, impulsado por la prosperidad de Amberes y por la demanda de una clientela variada deseosa de afirmar su estatus social. Jacob Jordaens, Cornelis de Vos y su discípulo Simon de Vos figuran entre los principales retratistas de la burguesía, mientras que Rubens y Van Dyck se orientaban más hacia la corte y la aristocracia.
