Anton Kern (1709, Tetschen – 1747, Dresde), La Anunciación. Tiza, tinta china, lavados y realces en blanco sobre papel hecho a mano. Aprox. 42,5 x 29,5 cm. Esta composición se basa en un retablo de Giovanni Battista Pittoni (1687-1767), encargado poco antes de 1730 para la Basílica de Santa María de Cracovia y que formaba parte de una serie de cinco obras destinadas a adornar los altares laterales de la nave central. Las primeras obras de Kern muestran una fuerte influencia de Pittoni, de cuya obra realizó numerosas copias. Los dibujos y pinturas de Kern se asemejan a menudo tanto a los de su maestro que se les ha atribuido erróneamente a este. Procedencia: Charles Rogers (1711-1784), Londres (L. 625); Hans Calmann (1899-1982), Londres, 1960; Colección Himmelheber; Colección privada, Baden-Wurtemberg.
