En 8º, encuadernación en piel de la época sobre tapas de cartón, con algunos signos de desgaste leve. Texto limpio y nítido. Completo: título, [9], 317 págs. y un mapa desplegable (del Golfo Pérsico a Constantinopla), tal y como se indica. En general, en muy buen estado. Según Navari: una obra interesante, rica en observaciones topográficas y sociales. Heude viajó por tierra desde el Golfo Pérsico, pasando por Anatolia, hasta Constantinopla. Todos estos oficiales británicos intentaron evaluar diferentes rutas terrestres con el fin de establecer una alternativa conveniente por tierra desde Inglaterra hasta la India. El proyecto fracasó en última instancia, pero ofreció a los europeos una oportunidad única de acceder al interior de Asia Menor y descubrir la población cristiana de Anatolia.
