ESCUELA FRANCESA DEL SIGLO XIX Dos hombres sacando un pecio (?) del mar bajo un cielo tormentoso ÓLEO SOBRE LIENZO 43,5 x 65 cm Marco de la época, de madera y estuco dorado (presenta desperfectos y faltas) Procedencia | Colección de Henri Dupuy de Lôme para su propiedad del Var y posteriormente por herencia Biografía | Stanislas Henri Laurent Dupuy de Lôme Ingeniero de la Armada francesa (Ploemeur, 1816-París, 1885). Construyó el primer buque de vapor, el «Napoléon» (1850), y la primera fragata acorazada, la «Gloire» (1858), que sirvió de modelo para la Armada del Segundo Imperio. Miembro del Consejo de Estado y diputado por Morbihan. En 1870, logró sacar de la París sitiada sesenta aerostatos. Era miembro de la Academia de Ciencias desde 1866.
