Pierre BAYLE (1945-2004). Alabastro - 17 de enero de (19)88. Jarrón de cuello estrecho de terracota esmaltada, conocida como «sigillata». Firmado y fechado en la base. Altura: 20 cm Procedencia: colección privada occitana, de una amiga de Pierre Bayle. Nota: Ceramista del Languedoc, formado en Castelnaudary, Pierre Bayle aúna el saber hacer tradicional con la investigación de vanguardia, y afirma la cerámica como un arte por derecho propio, a caballo entre el objeto utilitario y el objeto decorativo. Realiza piezas de arcilla sigillada, engobadas y posteriormente ahumadas, con superficies trabajadas para resaltar su textura y sus craquelados, lo que confiere profundidad y singularidad a sus obras.
