Colección de Russell Worby. Las cascadas ejercían una gran atracción sobre los turistas, pintores y poetas del movimiento pintoresco, y en las décadas de 1780 y 1790 Dayes viajó a Gales (otra vista de Denbighshire, que forma parte de la colección de la Whitworth Art Gallery de Mánchester, está fechada en 1783), Derbyshire y Yorkshire, donde describió la cascada Aysgarth Force; véase Edward Dayes, *The Works of Edward Dayes containing an Excursion through the principal parts of Derbyshire and Yorkshire...*, 1805. Thomas Girtin (1775-1802) fue alumno de Dayes, cuyo estilo de dibujo influyó profundamente en el joven Turner.
