VICTOR LEOPOLD BRUYNEEL (1859-?) Busto de mujer con un gran sombrero Escultura en mármol blanco de Carrara, firmada. Dimensiones: 58 x 33 x 35 cm - Escultor belga nacido en Gante, pasó gran parte de su carrera en París, donde creó la mayor parte de su obra en los estilos académico y Art Nouveau. Bruyneel se especializó principalmente en la creación de bustos femeninos, de jóvenes elegantes de la Belle Époque, a menudo representadas con peinados sofisticados, sombreros con plumas o el pelo suelto «al viento», en poses gráciles y sonrientes, típicas de la estética de 1900. Este gran busto femenino constituye un ejemplo especialmente logrado y seductor de su arte. El gran sombrero, de formas generosas y flexibles, es un motivo emblemático de la elegancia femenina de la Belle Époque y el sello distintivo del artista.
