Tabatera de nefrita conocida como «hueso de pollo», China, 1750-1850 De forma redondeada y aplanada, descansa sobre una base plana y el cuello se ensancha muy ligeramente. La nefrita, de color beige, presenta una bonita pátina y algunas grietas naturales, probablemente debidas al tratamiento al que fue sometida. Tapón de calcedonia. Altura: 5 cm El color y la textura de este jade, conocido como «calcificado» u «hueso de pollo», se deben a una cocción a muy alta temperatura de la nefrita, con el fin de imitar la pátina gris-beige de los jades antiguos transformados tras pasar siglos en la tierra húmeda de las tumbas.
