Caja interior: oro de 18 quilates, lisa; marca del fabricante «ALR». Esfera: champlevé de oro. Movimiento: de placa completa, cadena/fusée, volante de acero de tres brazos. Según Brian Loomes, John May nació en los Países Bajos. Fue nombrado miembro honorario del Gremio de Relojeros en 1692 y parece que fue miembro activo hasta 1702. Falleció en 1738. Caja: muy buen estado, ligeramente desgastada. Esfera: muy buen estado. Movimiento: muy buen estado, necesita restauración.
