MÁSCARA DE BAILE República de Costa de Marfil. Etnia guere. Siglo XX. Madera policromada. Altura: unos 40 cm. Máscara de danza con rostro humano que presenta una gran boca entreabierta con dientes de metal, una nariz ancha y achatada, ojos tubulares y una frente abombada. El contorno del rostro está realizado con cuero, tela y pelo. Estas máscaras aparecían durante las ceremonias fúnebres y también podían actuar como «máscaras detectives» al señalar a una persona culpable de delitos. Experto: Laurent DODIER
