La adaptación de obras pictóricas a soportes textiles no es algo infrecuente, véase el catálogo de Alfons Mucha, exposición en Mathildenhöhe, Darmstadt 1980, p. 152, aunque allí solo se mencionan los estampados. Más laboriosas que las imágenes impresas sobre tela son estas telas de seda tejidas, cuya adaptación al soporte textil exige una gran destreza.
