5 Rue De Montholon
75009 Paris, Francia
Thierry de Maigret established his auction house at 5 Rue de Montholon on 2 December 2000, taking over both the business and the premises previously occupied by Antoine Ader. After 18 years in operation, his auction house has established itself as a key player on the art market scene.
Holding one auction a week, we conduct general sales of paintings, furniture and objets d’art, jewellery, as well as specialist sales in more specific fields such as fine wines, Chinese and Japanese art, historical memorabilia and antique weapons.
Thierry de Maigret is a scholar with a keen interest in everything art has to offer. He loves unearthing treasures, showcasing them and giving them the recognition they deserve.
This passionate auctioneer is at your disposal to value your items and advise you on the sale or purchase of works of art. He travels throughout France and abroad to offer you the benefit of his experience and discerning eye.
The firm is strategically located in the heart of the Drouot district. We work with a network of renowned experts, several of whom have offices at the firm.
For the past 18 years, the Thierry de Maigret auction house has conducted historic sales, enabling the firm to achieve the renown it enjoys today, such as the wine cellar of President François Mitterrand. The contents of numerous estates have been carefully catalogued by our teams and sold at public auctions under our gavel. Many lots have found their way into museums in France and abroad, such as Louis-Léopold Boilly’s painting depicting Houdon modelling the bust of Bonaparte, now in the Louvre. Several auctions yielding figures in the millions have crowned this success, notably a Chinese painting of Empress Wu Zetian, which sold for 4,647,000 euros.
