257 - PENDULE dite de CARTONNIER in finely chased and gilded bronze, the large white enamelled dial with Roman numerals signed MARQUIS in Paris, encircled by a firise entrelacs with oves and pastilles, and adorned at the top with falling foliage, ribbon knot and surmounted by a seeded fruit, supported on either side by two consoles with acanthus leaves and a row of pearls, resting on a rectangular white marble base, the sides inlaid with an openwork post frieze and rosettes, the four ormolu feet with gadrooned feet. Louis XVI style, late 19th century. 45 x 42 x 19 cm (Minor dents to the edges of the base, chips to the dial enamel at the winding holes.
