A round cup made of dark green jade; the slightly recessed base and the rim are entirely engraved and gilded with stylized Arabic calligraphy and surrounded by a frieze of piastres. The rim features a continuous epigraphic frieze executed in thuluth script. The text refers to Sura Al-Hashr (The Gathering), verse 21, evoking the power of the Quran and the humility of the mountain before the greatness of Allah. The hollow base is adorned with radiating calligraphy surrounding a rosette, composed of verses from the Quran evoking the name of Allah. Indo-Persian Islamic art with Mughal influence.
