Rectangular box with faceted sides and a domed lid, made of green jade with natural inclusions and veins, adorned with eight large oval-cut rubies set in closed settings. The sides are engraved and gilded with Arabic calligraphic inscriptions in the Naskh script within oval, rectangular, or multilobed cartouches, displaying the names of Allah and Muhammad. Green is the color associated with Islam and is closely linked to the figure of the Prophet Muhammad. The color was adopted as a political and religious emblem during the Fatimid Caliphate, between the 10th and 12th centuries. A work from the Middle East with Persian influences. 6 x 11 x 6 cm
