Ricarda Montani Austria, 21st century Nude Painted-over print on canvas with metal blinds 140 x 95 cm Signed on the back The multifaceted & sensual art of Ricarda Montani: Born in Salzburg, the city of Mozart, she experienced the heyday of Austrian galleries—including those in Vienna—before opening her studio in Saint-Tropez. Her paintings are snapshots of emotions. They are mostly based on photographs of female models that she develops herself in her darkroom, using old materials such as baryta photo paper to lend her work character. “My professional career began in 2016 when I was invited to exhibit at Art Basel in Miami. It made me very proud to see my paintings alongside those of Gerhard Richter and Andy Warhol at ABM. And I was even prouder when I realized that all my paintings were sold during the VIP pre-party,” the artist says with delight.
