Albin Müller-Rundegg Obermais near Merano 1891 - 1975 Salzburg Berghain near Salzburg Oil on cardboard 24.5 x 32 cm, with frame 39 x 46.5 cm Signed lower right Albin Müller-Rundegg was a painter originally from South Tyrol who had lived in Salzburg since 1917 and became particularly well-known for his landscape paintings. This painting depicts a mountainside near Salzburg with a tree and fields in the foreground. Behind it, the view opens up to a cityscape, with its towering church accentuating the center of the composition. Lilac-colored clouds above the horizon lend the landscape a serene, perhaps evening-like atmosphere.
